The Big Bear Festival 2011-13 - Suffolk.

The original brief came through our work as main AV supplier to Towerlands Park in Braintree, which we had been for almost 6 years at this point.

We were asked to supply a stage area indoors with a full lighting rig and sound system for up to 1000 people.

The initial estimate was accepted and everything was all confirmed and then the unexpected happened Towerlands Park closed down less than 3 weeks before the event.

A new venue was found but this time it was going to be outside.

We now needed to supply our outdoor Myojo stage which has a performance area off 8metres wide and 6 metres deep with full weather roof and sides, we also supplied our smaller Performance stage which was built on the side to allow for a monitor mix position and an area for bands to start prepping their equipment before performance.

Our 150Kva generator was supplying all power to the stage and to the two Barco B10 outdoor led screens, which were either side of the PA wings.

The PA system for FOH was our EV XLE line array and monitors were EV RX115’s all powered by EV P series amplifiers.

FOH desk was our trusty Allen & Heath ML5000 desk with a Soundcraft SM for monitors.

Lighting was controlled by Avolites Pearl 2008 lighting desk and we had Martin Mac 550 & Mac 250 Profile moving heads, Studio Due CS4 ACL moving light batten, Par 64’s and Martin Mac 250 wash lights. We also used Martin Atomic strobes and smoke and haze machines from Jem.

Mrl also supplied live camera feeds to the screens as well as recorded the event which was then burnt to DVD for the client..

We have now done the 2nd year of this wonderful family event, which due to residential problems the first year has had to move venue.

Due to this change this year we supplied our KV2 Audio ES system, which we used as a double stack each side of the stage, the monitor desk changed to our Yamaha LS9 32 channel. Another generator was added to power the food stands, site lighting and 100v emergency PA system.

Another successful event and now looking forward to being part of this worthwhile cause in 2013.
