Accenture at Mobile World Congress: Dynamic Lighting for a Living Stand

The challenge

Mobile World Congress is chaos in the best possible way. Thousands of people, constant energy, and competing stands all fighting for attention. Accenture's stand needed to be more than just visually impressive; it needed to feel alive.

The brief was clear: create a striking, layered lighting design that could actually change throughout the day. Different sessions, different demos, different energy levels - the lighting needed to shift with it. Not one static look that gets tired by 3pm, but a genuinely responsive space that matched what was happening on the stand at any given moment.

We worked alongside creative agency Enigma to make this happen, taking responsibility for all the rigging and lighting delivery. The challenge was designing something ambitious enough to command attention on a packed show floor, while keeping it flexible enough to evolve throughout the day.

What we built

We created dynamic lighting for a living stand with multiple programmed states that changed seamlessly as the day progressed. Our lighting designer built in different looks for different moments - each one complementing what Accenture was doing on the stand without ever feeling like a jarring switch.

Above it all, we flew large LED ceiling panels that gave the entire space a genuine sense of scale and presence. On a busy show floor where everyone's fighting for sight lines, that vertical dimension made all the difference. In 2024, we evolved the design further, swapping the LED panels for bespoke light boxes that were even more striking.

The result was a stand that didn't just sit there looking nice - it felt active, responsive, and genuinely impressive.

How we made it happen

We did this for Accenture two years running at MWC, which meant we had to get it right, and we had to get it right consistently.

The build schedule was tight as it always is at these shows. We worked closely alongside the stand builders and all the other contractors involved to keep everything coordinated and on track. No surprises at build-out, no panicked rewiring at 2am. Just smooth execution from first motor to final tech check.

Our lighting designer programmed all the state changes upfront, so everything happened automatically throughout the day. No operators needed, no manual switching, just seamless transitions that matched the rhythm of what was happening on the stand. That level of planning and coordination is what lets a complex installation actually run smoothly when it matters.
