Soultown Festival 2024: Stages so good we did it twice
The Challenge
Soultown Festival needed production at scale and not just one stage, but two. They brought us in as the sole production supplier for the main stage, and then asked us to do it again for the dance stage. You read that right, stages so good we did it twice.
The challenge was consistency. You can't have a world-class main stage and a second-rate dance stage. Festival-goers notice, DJs notice, and the whole event feels disjointed. We needed to deliver the same level of production quality, the same reliability, the same energy but adapted to a different space and a different vibe.
An outdoor festival weekend also means you've got one shot. No retakes, no second nights to get it right. Everything needed to work from the moment the doors opened, through every set, all night long.
Stages so good, we did it twice
The dance stage was built around a custom ground-supported Milos truss structure which was solid, scalable, and designed to support everything we needed to hang. We paired that with a carefully selected range of lighting fixtures and rotating mirror balls that created an immersive, energetic atmosphere. Add in our custom effects package, and the result was genuinely compelling.
On the audio side, we installed a Double ES KV2 system that delivered even coverage across the outdoor stage and its surroundings. That's the unglamorous bit that makes or breaks a DJ set. If half the crowd can't hear the bass, the whole thing falls apart. We got it right.
The DJs, Clockwork Orange and Soultown's legendary resident DJs, mixed live from our Pioneer CDJ 3000 setup. Professional-grade equipment, zero surprises, just the platform they needed to deliver world-class sets all weekend.
How We Made It Happen
Being the sole production supplier for both main and dance stages meant everything ran through us. That's a responsibility, but it's also an advantage. We could ensure consistency, coordinate across both spaces, and make sure nothing fell through the cracks.
Festival weekends are intense. Setup, teardown, running two stages simultaneously, managing equipment, troubleshooting on the fly. We planned meticulously so that when things went live, they just worked. The DJs had what they needed, the audio reached everyone, the lighting enhanced the vibe, and it all kept running smoothly all night long.
