Chilli Partners at iGB Affiliate: James Bond glamour meets smart lighting execution

The challenge

Chilli Partners had a vision: bring a James Bond theme to life on an exhibition stand. That's not just about slapping some lights on - it's about creating an immersive atmosphere, a sense of theatre, a reason for people to actually want to spend time in the space. Designed by Concept Communications International, the stand needed to deliver that cinematic, sophisticated vibe while still functioning as a working demo space.

The twist? The stand had almost no storage space. None of the usual infrastructure that lets you hide equipment and cabling. We needed to design a lighting and audio system that was sophisticated enough to create that moody, James Bond atmosphere - but simple enough to run cleanly from almost nothing.

What we built

We created a smart lighting execution design that picked out key areas of the stand while maintaining that moody, cinematic atmosphere throughout. Clever use of shadow and selective illumination kept the energy sophisticated without ever feeling harsh or corporate.

The star detail was a softly lit string curtain that finished off the casino vibe perfectly - elegant, themed, and instantly atmospheric. It transformed the stand from a demo space into somewhere people actually wanted to be.

On the audio side, we installed a flown sound system that delivered punchy, clear sound for the DJs performing on the stand all day. Live music in an exhibition environment is tricky - it needs to cut through the show floor noise without drowning out conversation. We got that balance right.

The whole thing came together as a genuinely immersive experience. It won awards for a reason.

How we made it happen

The storage constraint was actually the clever bit. Rather than fighting it, we designed around it. The entire lighting setup ran from a single laptop with an Avolites T2 dongle - no racks of equipment, no bulky control systems taking up precious floor space. Everything was either flying overhead or tucked neatly away. Clean, elegant, and it meant the stand could focus entirely on the theme rather than hiding the infrastructure.

We worked closely with Concept Communications International throughout to make sure the rigging and lighting enhanced their design vision rather than fighting against it. The result was a stand where every element - the lighting, the audio, the production design felt like it all belonged together.
