Fireworks light up Clacton Pier for website launch

Clacton Pier played host to a spectacular fireworks display in July 2025, marking the launch of Discover Clacton, a new website designed to promote the town's attractions, heritage and visitor experiences.

The 26 July event, choreographed to a custom soundtrack and narration, kicked off the summer season while introducing the digital platform created by the newly formed Clacton Coastal Tourism Group (CCTG). The initiative aims to boost visitor engagement across local businesses and attractions.

MRL Productions provided the music and narration for the event in partnership with Dynamic Fireworks, ensuring the technical elements synced precisely with the visual spectacle. The coordination between production and pyrotechnics meant the soundtrack wasn't background accompaniment, it was integral to the story the event told.

Billy Ball, pier director and Chairman of CCTG, said: "The whole idea is to champion Clacton and raise the profile of its attractions, natural environment and heritage. We all know how great it is, a traditional British seaside resort with a modern twist, but there is so much more to it than that. We need to get that message over loud and clear so we can see the town get back to its glory days."
